William Jones

 Independent Director

William Jones founded his corporate governance practice in 2006 with the intent of institutionalising high quality corporate governance in the investment funds industry. William has over 29 years of experience in the investment funds industry and has held senior positions with Goldman Sachs Asset Management International and Bank of Bermuda/HSBC. William currently provides directorship services for a range of UCITS, AIFs and SPVs domiciled in Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands and other jurisdictions. William established Beaumont Governance S.A. (formerly MPL Services Luxembourg) in 2015.

William received an MBA and a JD from Columbia University in 1988 and graduated from Princeton University in 1984. He was a member of the first class to complete the INSEAD International Directors Program (“IIDP”) in 2011, was a member of the IIDP Advisory Board and served as its first President. He was on the board of directors of ILA, the institute of directors of Luxembourg, from 2016 to 2020 and a member of its Fund Governance Committee for over 10 years. He was a major contributor to the “ILA Guide for Board Members in the Context of AIF and AIFM” issued in July 2014 and was co-vice chair of the Alternative Investment Management Association’s committee that issued the “AIMA Fund Director Guide” in April 2015.  Throughout his career, William has been relentless in ‘raising the bar’ on the quality of corporate governance for investment funds.

William is a US national, native Spanish and English speaker, fluent in French and Italian and has been based in Luxembourg since 2008.

Gunter Rausch

Conducting Officer & Independent Director

Gunter Rausch is a Director of Beaumont Governance S.A., as well as an Independent Director for a portfolio of Luxembourg and Cayman investment funds. His client portfolios comprise the following strategies: traditional long-only, long-short, private equity, real estate, fund-of-funds (hedge and private equity) and volatility.  Prior to joining Beaumont Governance, Gunter served as Conducting Officer at Willerfunds Management Company S.A., a subsidiary of the Swiss private bank, Banque Morval.

​

Leveraging his training as a chartered accountant and auditor with Johan Wille Consulting, he joined PwC Cayman Islands in 2006 as a Senior Associate, specialising in banking and hedge funds. During 2008 Gunter assumed responsibility for the mutual fund administration function of Morval Bank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd. before transferring to Luxembourg in 2013. Gunter’s tenure within the Morval group lasted just over 9 years, 5 of which were spent in Cayman and 4 in Luxembourg.

Gunter is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, is registered as a director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority ("CIMA") and holds a Hons B Com in Chartered Accountancy from the Northwest University in South Africa. Gunter is an active member of ILA (Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs) and is following the ILA Certified Directors programme.

Based in Luxembourg since 2013, Gunter is a dual South African and German national. He is a native English speaker and fluent in German and Afrikaans.

Stefan Schaechterle

Independent Director

Stefan Schaechterle brings over 30 years of professional experience to his role as Independent Director. He has held senior positions in investment management and business administration of funds and private asset management companies throughout Europe and has been responsible for all aspects of corporate functions i.e. Finance and Tax, Controlling, Investment Management and Investor Relations. Stefan graduated from the University of Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, cum laude in 1988.

Stefan has developed a particular expertise in the Private Equity sector from his years working with Private Equity Funds and Fund of Funds, administrating and creating Private Equity portfolios for corporate investors or acting as lead investor in a number of investment projects and newly launched Private Equity and Real Estate Funds. He has chaired and participated in a wide range of investment committees and supervisory boards as well as contributed to the restructuring of private companies.

​

During 2017 he qualified as an ILA certified director and specialises in AIFMD and Risk Management issues within the PE-RE sector. Stefan has acquired a solid knowledge concerning Luxembourg's corporate tax structure and its instruments. He is a Luxembourg resident and has been granted a license from the Luxembourg Government as an economic advisor.

Based in Luxembourg since 2001, Stefan is a German national. He is bilingual in German and French and fluent in French and English.
