Michael Faulkner

Conducting Officer & Independent Director

Michael Faulkner is an Independent Director and a Conducting Officer of MPL Services (Luxembourg) S.A. where his primary responsibility is for the day-to-day management of the domiciliation services of this specialised PSF. As an Independet Director, he specialises in corporate governance, enterprise risk management and compliance matters.

 

Previously Michael was a Director in KPMG Luxembourg, heading up the Risk Management, Ethics & Independence department. He was also a member of the KPMG International Global Compliance Review Program performing compliance reviews of KPMG member firms in Europe, Middle East, Africa, South America and Asia.

 

Michael originally trained and qualified as an accountant and auditor with PwC and gained experience working for a variety of clients in the financial services and commercial and industrial domains in both Ireland and Luxembourg.

 

Michael is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds a BA in Accounting from the University of Ulster. Michael is an active member of ILA (Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs) and is following the ILA Certified Directors programme.

 

Michael is a British national and has been based in Luxembourg since 2004.

Brian Blanchard

Independent Director

Brian Blanchard brings over 24 years of capital markets experience to his role as an Independent Director. Relocating from his native New Orleans to London after post-graduate studies, Brian has held senior positions in The Bank of New York Mellon, ABN AMRO Mellon and Clearstream. Brian holds an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management of Erasmus University (NL) and graduated from Louisiana State University (USA).

 

For the past 17 years Brian has served in a series of senior business development roles at The Bank of New York Mellon while based in London and Luxembourg, collaborating with Asset Managers, Central Banks and Pension Funds throughout the Nordics, BENELUX, Middle East & APAC. During his career, Brian has developed a broad expertise in securities financing, investment operations and fund services, helping investors manage regulatory and operational challenges for both UCITS and AIF structures. Areas of expertise include: securities lending, collateral management, global custody, depobank/trustee, central administration, FX, cash management, middle office outsourcing, performance measurement / attribution, risk measurement and UCTIS / AIF fund launches.

 

Brian is an active member of ILA (Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs) and various ALFI working groups as well as being a registered director in the Cayman Islands.

 

Brian is a dual UK / US national and has been based in Luxembourg since 2003.

Gunter Rausch

Conducting Officer & Independent Director

Gunter Rausch has been a Director and Conducting Officer of MPL Services (Luxembourg) S.A. since 2017. Previously, he was a Conducting Officer for 4 years at Willerfunds Management Company S.A., a subsidiary of the Swiss private bank, Banque Morval.

 

Leveraging his training as a chartered accountant and auditor with Johan Wille Consulting, he joined PwC Cayman Islands in 2006 as a Senior Associate, specialising in banking and hedge funds. After 2 years Gunter then assumed the responsibilities for the mutual fund administration for Morval Bank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd. Gunter eventually transferred to Luxembourg in 2013.

 

Gunter is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, is registered as a professional director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority ("CIMA") and holds a Hons B Com in Chartered Accountancy from the Northwest University in South Africa. Gunter is an active member of ILA (Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs) and is following the ILA Certified Directors programme.

 

Gunter is a South African national and has been based in Luxembourg since 2013.

Keith Burman

Independent Director

Keith Burman has been working with ManagementPlus since February 2014, focusing European real estate and private equity fund clients. Formerly with State Street Corporation, Keith was Senior Managing Director in their EMEA private equity and real estate administration business, responsible for Product Management and Client Service Management, as well as head of their Luxembourg Alternative Investment Solutions office. Prior to his tenure at State Street, he spent 8 years building the Brown Brothers Harriman real estate and private equity administration business to a team of over 100 staff and US$50 billion in assets under administration.

 

Keith is a 20-year veteran of the investment industry, who qualified initially as a Chartered Real Estate Valuation and Investment Surveyor while working for Jones Lang Lasalle and Lasalle Investment Management. Now a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he also brings experience in Real Estate and Private Equity Alternative Fund Structuring, Fund Administration, Anti-MoneyLaundering, and Depositary to his roles an an Independent Director. Over the years, Keith has also been engaged in Corporate Governance, Real Estate Investment Management, Product and Operational Strategy Development and Research into Real Estate and Alternative Funds topics. He is widely recognized in Luxembourg as a leading expert in Real Estate and Private Equity fund administration and depositary services as well as the rules promulgated under the EU’s AIFM Directive.

 

Keith is a British national and has been based in Luxembourg since 2001.

Stefan Schaechterle

Independent Director

Stefan Schaechterle brings over 30 years of professional experience to his role as Independent Director. He held senior positions in investment management and business administration of funds and private asset management companies throughout Europe and has been responsible for all aspects of corporate functions i.e. Finance and Tax, Controlling, Investment Management and Investor Relations. Stefan graduated from the University of Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, cum laude in 1988. He is a German national and fluent in German, French and English.

 

Stefan has developed a particular expertise in the Private Equity sector from his years working with Private Equity Funds and Fund of Funds, creating Private Equity portfolios for corporate investors or acting as lead investor in a number of investment projects and newly launched Private Equity and Real Estate Funds. He has chaired and participated in a wide range of investment committees and supervisory boards as well as contributed to the restructuring of PE funds.

 

During 2017 he qualified as an ILA certified and CSSF approved director and specialises in AIFMD and Risk Management issues for Private Equity and Real Estate funds. Stefan has acquired a solid knowledge concerning Luxembourg's corporate tax structure and its instruments. He is a Luxembourg resident and has been granted a license from the Luxembourg Government as economic advisor.

 

Stefan is a German national and has been based in Luxembourg since 2001.
